CHEMICAL REACTOR

A chemical reactor is a process vessel in which chemical reactions are carried out under controlled temperature, pressure and mixing conditions. Since 2009, Makfen has designed and manufactured chemical reactors and has provided turnkey reactor plant installation and technical support. The reactors are built from carbon steel or AISI 304L/316L stainless steel, depending on the chemical resistance the process requires.

Types of Chemical Reactor

• Batch reactors: Raw materials are charged at once and the product is discharged when the reaction is complete.
• Semi-batch reactors: One of the components is fed in a controlled way during the reaction.
• Continuous reactors: Feed and product discharge run without interruption.
• Homogeneous and heterogeneous reactors: Distinguished by whether the reaction takes place in a single phase or in more than one phase (liquid–gas, liquid–solid).
• Catalytic and non-catalytic reactors: Distinguished by whether or not a catalyst is used.

Chemical Reactor Design, Manufacturing and Documentation

Makfen designs chemical reactors to order and, depending on the project, calculates, manufactures and installs them in accordance with PED 2014/68/EU, EN 13445, ASME BPVC Section VIII or AD 2000-Merkblatt. Each delivery includes technical and manufacturing drawings, material certificates, test and inspection reports, and operation and maintenance documents.
