A container mixer is a powder blender that mixes powders and granules inside the container (IBC) in which they are transported, by rotating the container about an axis offset from its own. Because the product is blended without being transferred to another vessel, product loss and dust emissions are reduced, there is no blender bowl to clean and changeovers between products are faster. The container, filled with powder, is placed in the mixer’s rotating frame and secured by the clamping system. The frame rotates the container at the set speed for the set time; the product tumbles inside the container, constantly changing direction, until a homogeneous blend is obtained. When blending is complete, the container is removed from the frame and transferred directly to the next process, such as a tablet press or a filling machine. On lift-column models the container can also be raised and discharged into the machine below.
