STORAGE STOCK TANKS

Makfen designs and manufactures storage stock tanks for liquid products. Used to store raw materials, intermediates, finished products and fuel, these tanks are built in carbon steel or stainless steel, depending on the product and site conditions, in accordance with TS EN, EN, ASME and API standards.

Types of Storage Stock Tanks

• Raw material field tanks: storing incoming liquid raw materials until they are used in production
• Intermediate and finished product tanks: buffer storage between the production line and filling or dispatch
• Fuel tanks: on-site fuel storage
• Custom production tanks: tanks with dimensions and equipment tailored to the process and layout

Design and Materials

For non-corrosive products stored in large volumes, externally painted carbon steel tanks are an economical solution. For hygienic or corrosive products, AISI 304 or 316L stainless steel is used. Vertical cylindrical tanks save space in large storage areas, while horizontal tanks are preferred for smaller volumes and where height is limited. Standards such as API 650 and EN 14015 are applied to welded atmospheric storage tanks.

Storage stock tanks can be manufactured in diameters from 1500 mm to 6500 mm. For viscous products or those that solidify in the cold, they can be designed with a double wall, water heating and rock wool insulation; welded, bolted and nested construction options are available.
