IBC POWDER CONTAINER

An IBC powder container (Intermediate Bulk Container) is a stainless steel container used to transfer powders and granules between production steps in a closed, controlled way, to store them temporarily and to discharge them into the next piece of equipment. Makfen manufactures IBC powder containers in AISI 304, AISI 316 or AISI 316L stainless steel according to customer specifications and the properties of the product to be handled, in line with GMP requirements and hygienic design principles.

Areas of Use

IBC powder containers are used mainly in the pharmaceutical industry to transfer powders and granules between steps such as granulation, drying, blending, tablet compression and capsule filling. In the food, chemical and cosmetics industries they are also used to move powdered raw materials and intermediates, or as mobile vessels. With suitable connections, the container can be coupled to a container mixer so that the product is blended inside the same container.

Design and Surface Options

IBC powder containers are produced in prismatic, cylindrical or other requested shapes. The lower section is designed as a cone or pyramid so that the product flows easily. Inner surfaces are mostly requested with a mirror-polished finish, while a satin finish is preferred in some applications.
