Hygienic Design of Purified Water Tanks

To preserve water quality, the internal surfaces of the tank must be smooth and easy to clean, the tank must drain completely and there must be no dead volume inside. For this reason, purified water tanks are usually made of AISI 316L stainless steel, with a fully draining dished or conical bottom and hygienic connections. The tank breathes through a hydrophobic vent filter that stops particles and micro-organisms in the surrounding air from getting in.
